Diane Atwell is Avalere´s Chief Financial Officer (CFO). She oversees the firm´s financial activities including its accounting functions, the budgeting process, and has oversight of human resources, facilities, and information technology.
Prior to joining Avalere, Diane served as the Controller, Treasurer, CFO, and Vice President of Finance over the course of a nearly decade-long career at Congressional Quarterly, a well-known political journalism publisher in Washington, DC. There, she gained expertise in the syndication and sale of intellectual property and directed the day-to-day activities of the financial, human resources, administrative, and printing departments for the company. She also reviewed all financial information provided to the broker and potential purchasers of the CQ Press division and negotiated the subsequent financial transition services agreement with the purchaser.
Diane has technical proficiency in financial accounting, budgeting, model development, audit, and tax. In addition, she has a broad scope of commercial knowledge, having previously worked in the real estate and hotel industries at AMI Capital Inc. and Marriott Corporation, respectively.
Diane has a B.S. in Economics from the University of Virginia and is a Certified Public Accountant.
