Alexis Ahlstrom

Alexis Ahlstrom, Director, specializes in Medicare post-acute care payment and financing policy, working with clients to analyze current payment and utilization trends, to estimate the impact of regulatory and legislative developments, and to develop alternative policies for discussions with congressional and administration contacts.

Alexis is an expert in the subjects of long-term care hospitals, inpatient rehabilitation facilities, skilled nursing facilities, and the home health, hospice, outpatient therapy, and home infusion sectors. 

Prior to joining Avalere, Alexis spent three years at the Congressional Budget Office estimating the budgetary impact of legislation on Medicare providers and services.  In addition to analyzing the effects of legislative proposals, she also projected future program spending under current law for the programs in her portfolio.

Alexis holds both a B.A. in Anthropology and a M.P.H. from the University of Michigan.
