Michael J. Barry, M.D.,
Medical Director,
Professor of Medicine

Michael Barry, a practicing general internist, is Medical Director of the John D. Stoeckle Center for Primary Care Innovation at the Massachusetts General Hospital, and Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School.

Dr. Barry has been President of the Society for Medical Decision-Making (SMDM) and President of the Society of General Internal Medicine.

Dr. Barry was the Principal Investigator of the Prostate Patient Outcomes research Team-II. He is Chief Medical Editor for the Foundation for Informed Medical Decision-Making (www.FIMDM.org).

His research interests include defining the outcomes of strategies for the evaluation and treatment of prostate disease, decision analysis, health status measurement, technology assessment, clinical quality improvement, and the use of decision aids to facilitate patients’ participation in decision-making.
