Ms. Stegall joined Healthways in 2001 as Clinical Director for Cardiac Healthways, with an emphasis on Ischemic Heart Disease. After supporting design of several clinical solutions, she added sales support to her job responsibilities. In 2007, she moved into the Sales department where she serves as the Solution Subject Matter Expert supporting the sales and account teams through proposal development and customer presentations. She continues to act as a consultant to the clinical design team.
Ms. Stegall has an extensive background in cardiovascular nursing, practicing in community and for-profit hospitals in roles ranging from clinical staff to coordinating clinical trials to management positions. Her most recent hospital role was that of Director for Cardiovascular Services for a 500 bed urban hospital which performed 500 open heart surgeries per year. In this role, she also served as leader for the Outpatient Education Center for Diabetes, In patient Respiratory Therapy department and Cardiac Rehab. Prior to this position, she was Cardiovascular Outcomes Manager, with primary responsibility for assuring cost and quality outcomes for hospitalized cardiovascular patients. Her previous clinical practice was focused in critical care, post-op cardiovascular surgery units, as well as the cardiovascular catheterization lab. She developed a cardiovascular database and helped establish a research department to manage clinical trials in the community hospital setting. She served as adjunct clinical faculty for Auburn University School of Nursing in the critical care area.
Ms. Stegall is a registered nurse, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Auburn University School of Nursing in Auburn, Alabama. She continued her education at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia where she received her Master’s in Nursing. She has been an active participant in the American Association of Critical Care Nurses, both on the local and national levels. She received her Certifications as a Critical Care Nurse in 1987, and maintained that credential through 2001. She has also participated in the Society of Critical Care Medicine where she was one of the first nurse instructors for the Fundamentals of Critical Care Support Course. She maintains her membership in the American Heart Association Nursing Council, and the American Nurses Association.
