Director of Survivorship Policy, National Coalition for Cancer Survivorship
NCCS’s mission is to advocate for quality cancer care. NCCS believes in evidence-based advocacy for systemic changes at the federal level in how the nation researches, regulates, finances, and delivers quality cancer care. A key focus of NCCS's cancer survivorship is advocacy to improve the patient experience of those living with cancer, both during and after the acute phase of their treatment.
He is a long term survivor of Stage IV melanoma, having begun treatment for metastatic disease in November 1998. Following his treatment and recovery he began working at NCCS as a volunteer and subsequently moved into a position on the NCCS staff.

FDA patient consultants are trained by the FDA and represent a patient perspective in the drug review process in settings that include end of Phase 2 meetings, advisory committee meetings and other settings as needed.
