Shannah Koss, Vice President, directs Avalere’s Health Information Technology (HIT) practice and consults on a wide array of Medicare, self-insured employers, care management, and HIT industry issues. Shannah has over 20 years of senior leadership experience in health regulation, health information technology, and health industry strategy.
Most recently, Shannah served as Senior Vice President of Government Services for I-trax Inc., developing the company’s health and productivity products and strategy. Prior to joining I-trax, Shannah led the U.S. business development for Voxiva, Inc., a telephone/web-based HIT solution company supporting solutions for home health, chronic care, and post-operative care settings. Previously, Shannah worked as an executive in IBM’s Health Services Industry supporting clients throughout the health industry with HIT strategy and implementation. During her tenure she launched IBM’s HIPAA National Practice and built a 25-person consulting practice before leaving to start her own consulting firm specializing in HIT and HIPAA issues.
Shannah began her career at the White House Office of Management and Budget, where for over 10 years she served in progressively senior health oversight positions in the Information and Regulatory Affairs Division, with a specialty in FDA, Medicare, HIT, and regulatory reform.
Shannah holds a B.A. from the University of Chicago, and a M.P.P. from Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government. |
