Jennifer Hersh is the Director, Policy and Strategic Alliances, for the American Diabetes Association (ADA). Jennifer has over ten years of healthcare experience, which includes providing direct patient care and examining consumer health insurance issues at Georgetown University’s Health Policy Institute. Jennifer’s current policy work at ADA includes policy analysis and support for the Association’s State and Federal Government Affairs teams in addition to focusing on coverage and healthcare reform issues. She represents the interest of people with diabetes as a National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) consumer representative and recently testified before the Nebraska State Senate regarding the implications of increasing high risk pool premiums on people with diabetes. Jennifer also represents ADA on various committees including the American Public Health Association’s (APHA) Medical Section, the Centers for Disease Control’s (CDC) Division of Diabetes Translation (DDT) Conference Committee, and CDC’s National Public Health Initiative on Diabetes and Women’s Health, which, among other issues, addresses the needs of women with gestational diabetes.
Jennifer is a graduate of Georgetown University, where she received a B.S. in nursing and a M.P.P. with a concentration in health policy. |
