Keith J. Fontenot, Deputy Assistant Director for Health and Human Resources, Budget Analysis Division.

Keith Fontenot became Deputy Assistant Director for Health and Human Resources of the Budget Analysis Division in September 2007.  From 2001 to 2007, he was chief of the Health Financing Branch in the Office of Management and Budget (OMB), where he was responsible for the Medicare and Medicaid programs, and related health issues.  From 1998 to 2001 he was the Assistant Deputy Commissioner for Policy in the Social Security Administration.  Before that, he was Chief of the Income Maintenance Branch in OMB from 1986 to 1998, where he oversaw income security programs, including Social Security.  He started his federal career as a budget examiner at OMB for Social Security and other retirement programs in 1982.

Mr. Fontenot holds a M.A. in public policy from Duke University, and a B.A. from the Old Dominion University.
