Making Healthcare Connections Duke University is a primary Avalere Health partner. We co-sponsor educational sessions with the University and also work closely with Duke clinicians on client studies. Prior research has included studies on Medicaid payment for pharmaceuticals, the structure of the biotechnology industry, and the use of disease management in public programs. Dan Mendelson serves as Adjunct Professor in the Fuqua School of Business, and teaches a course, Healthcare in the 21st Century. Get a glimpse into the world of Boot Campan intensive summer session that kicks off Duke's Health Sector Management track of their MBA program. Avalere Health also works collaboratively with Brandeis University’s Heller School for Social Policy and Management to provide strategic analysis and research services to the Center for Medicare and Medicaid’s Office of Research, Development and Information. Under this partnership, CMS can award the Avalere-Brandeis team assignments directly related to CMS’ future strategic initiatives and interests related to Medicare, Medicaid, the State Children’s Health Insurance Program, the uninsured, and any other aspects of CMS program responsibilities. This work will touch on critical aspects of healthcare research: costs, quality, service delivery models, and financing and payment approaches, and will work to evaluate the impact of CMS’ programs on its beneficiaries, providers, states, and other customers and partners.
Avalere Health also works with a range of other academic partners. Tanisha Carino, Ph.D., serves as Adjunct Professor at Johns Hopkins University, and focuses her research on Medicare coverage issues. Staff from Avalere Health have also been involved in both continuing Medical and Pharmacy educational programs affiliated with a number of leading academic institutions. |
